What is the Instant Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Screen?
Better2Know provides Instant Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing at selected private STI clinics throughout South Africa. This testing option is available after a 14-day period of incubation, allowing you to get tested just two weeks after having sex. The results of your screen will be available within 30 minutes of being tested. This means you will receive your results on the same day as your test.
Which infections are tested for?
This test will detect:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhoea

What samples are required?
Your Instant Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Screen will require swab samples for analysis. There are no dietary requirements or needles associated with this testing option and you will not be required to fast before your test.
How will I receive my results?
Following your Instant Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Screen, your results will be available within 30 minutes. The clinic will give you a copy of the Better2Know Rapid Test Results Report upon completion of your analysis.
What if I test positive for an STI?
If your confidential screen is positive for Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea, our STI clinic will provide a prescription for the medication you require immediately, with no supplementary costs. Better2Know’s expert Patient Services team can arrange a private doctor’s consultation before your test or following your results. Alternatively, you can also take your results to your own doctor or sexual health care provider.
